About
I'm Alice (she/her); I'm an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker and family therapist.
I believe in compassionate, collaborative, and curious practice, as well as making connection and safety through humour and honesty. I am passionate about being inclusive of all size, ability, race, gender and sexuality and I'm committed to making spaces safe for everyone.
I have experience with domestic violence, trauma, and disability and I have specialised in the field of eating disorders for the last few years.
My practice is grounded in a commitment to anti-oppressive practice, an acknowledgement of my own privilege and a willingness to admit my mistakes.
I invite you to look around and get in touch if you'd like to book an assessment session to discuss how I can support you.
ABT acknowledges the Jagera and Turrbal people as the traditional owners of the land on which I practice. Always was, always will be Aboriginal lands
Individual Therapy
I enjoy helping clients to understand, define, and utilise who they are and what they want in life. My areas of interest and speciality include:
eating disorders of all types
identity
grief and loss
trauma
body acceptance
I prefer to draw on numerous sources of skills and knowledge in order to meet each individual where they are. These include: CBT, CBT-E, SSCM, RO-DBT, DBT, Self-compassion, AFT, FBT (Maudsley), as well as learning from the lived experience of others.
Couple & Family Therapy
Supporting couples and families to navigate the complexities of relationships while strengthening connection, understanding, and trust.
I am trained in systemic family therapy models that suggest that families are a system and that everyone interacts within that system, both impacting and being impacted by it. Systemic family therapy then works to help people recognise these patterns and interrupt those contributing to problems.
Every family has strengths, and every family experiences challenges - book an initial session today to explore how family therapy can benefit you and your family.
Supervision
Supervision provides space for professionals and students to develop reflective practice, receive support to develop skills, celebrate wins and learn from their mistakes.
With my family therapy training, I enjoy helping supervisees to explore how their own history and context has shaped them as a practitioner and how to use that awareness to enhance their practice.
I also provide specific supervision focused on recognising and responding to eating disorders, body image concerns, and associated areas such as identity.
Telehealth is available for supervisees from anywhere in Australia. International available upon request.
